Testing Materials!

Finding out about materials around us has been the Year 1 Science topic this first half of term. We have been naming materials, exploring how they look and feel and what they are used for. What we have all especially enjoyed is discovering some of the properties of materials through doing investigations. We have discovered that magnets only attract things made of metal but not all types of metal; the best material for mopping up spills is a sponge cloth; magazine paper would make a useless umbrella and plasticine isn’t rigid enough to make a bookshelf.
